Best of Ireland’s Coast Video

Explore Ireland's Coast in this Equitrekking video clip. Horseback ride the beaches of Donegal, ride by mountains, lakes and stunning Dingle Bay on the Ring of Kerry, step back in time to ancient stone circles at Ravensdale on the Cooley Peninsula and cross the sand bridge to mythical Omey Island.

At Ravensdale, you can ride with local Niall Connolly, who was born and raised in Ravensdale. Only an hour from Dublin or Belfast, the Cooley Peninsula is dotted with seaside towns, like Carlingford, which has been a popular destination since the Vikings invaded in the 9th century. Join Niall for lessons in dressage, cross country jumping or flatwork with a two day overnight trek to the medieval town of Carlingford with its charming pubs and restaurants. (Learn more about this trip)

Donegal is known for its wide sandy beaches, great for horse riding on the beach. Omey Island is in Connemara, about as far West in Ireland as you can get. I took a day ride with Siobhan Cazabon, from Cleggan Riding Centre, who grew up riding in this area, and knows the unpublished history of Omey Island.

The Ring of Kerry is one of the most stunning rides I've ever taken. The O'Sullivan family will give you a locals experience as you ride through this historic area of Ireland. (Learn more about this trip)
